Does anyone have a simple solution for constructing a grey water waste system?

If you look under the Topics (scroll way down) under Waste Management, someone may have posted one there, there are several threads on the subject.

Some concerns, depending upon the area you live in, are legality and ease of conversion back to "normal" plumbing should you find you need to sell your property to more conventional types.

Might find some ideas on the site: Grey Water & the Garden, http://www.earthlife.org.za/ghouse/gfiles/water/graywater/grey-1.htm

Hello Carole,

We use grey water for our garden in the warm seasons. Just hook you drain to the top of a plastic barrel and a water hose to the bottom. A faucet at the bottom allows you to use the barrel after its full.

Sincerely, Ernest

I just pipe it out on the ground, or dig a hole and fill with gravel and let it seep down that way. Years ago a friend piped his kitchen sink out to the yard, for some reason the watershed inspector came by and told him he could not do that.Well, my friend says, then I'll catch it in a pail under the sink and then throw it out the door into the yard! The watershed inspector had no response.

Hendo, just be glad your friend doesn't live in an area where they require soil tests, radon tests, etc. before they can sell the property. Scraping off polluted dirt and bringing in new dirt can be expensive.

There is a right way and a wrong way to do grey water, and even the right way is unfortunately not legal everywhere--sometimes for very good reasons having to do with the environment, density, etc. Just a thought.
