Peacock eggs (Exotic Animals)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I am thinking of getting into peacocks. I would like to hatch around 10 or more in a incubator. Where can I get eggs to hatch, who has the best prices and just give me some general information on getting them started. Wish me luck, Terry

Response to Peacock eggs

Stromberg's Chicks and Gamebirds Unlimited (www.strombergschickens.com) sell six assorted peafowl eggs for $77.00. However, are you really sure you want to have them. Just about everything I have read say they are a real pain in the butt to have around.

Peacocks are screechers that sound like a teenage girl with a body part caught in a winger.

Hey Mitch, what would a teenage boy sound like? :)

Teenage boys don't grow that tall!!

While it is true that peacocks do screech it isn't half as annoying as guineas, and much more pleasing to the eye.

Peacocks are such fun to tease. My old Toyota van had a horn that when honked ever so lightly caused any & all peacocks in the area to start screeching.....I used to cruise in search of this morbid entertainment!

AW - I beg to differ. I live next to a petting zoo-type hobby farm (the next 100 acre parcel east of me) and they have both peacocks and guinneas. When you walk into the yard, the guinneas are the most annoying. But "Blue's" screaches at 4am carry across the fields and are almost bone-chilling. And Denver - I'm glad you don't live near here! Have fun Terry.
