successful lambing

Well, today we had two lambs born (girl and boy) and they are healthy and weigh in at 7.5 and 8.2 lbs. The mom's udder is useless, so I saved colostrum from the first (disasterous) lambing and fed it to these lambs. They are doing very well. Hooray! In His Grace, Sissy

Why is the mums udder useless? Never developed or nothign comes out? Scarred teats? Vey hard bag? They will sometimes hold up thier milk and a small shot of oxytocin will let it down. Did she pass her after birth? Glad you had some colostrum on hand and they're doing well!
