I just ran across this website while surfing the internet. It includes a lot of info which might be of interest to small farmers, homesteaders, etc.

They have a beautiful farm house with historic stuff going all the time. Plus the farm you mentioned. I am in the process of getting (hopefully) a grant for irrigation for the blueberry u-pick I have. They are looking for this kind of agriculture in OK. They want to experiment on my blueberries with mulch, not too sure I want that so..well see. They're also interested in people growing grapes. Not too sure what to do with the grapes. There are wineries in OK. But, I would probably be tar and fleathered if I grew wine grapes in this area! So..I am sticking with the blueberries..Debbie

Thanks for the link, Elizabeth, as I was looking for information on SE Oklahoma as a possible relocation area in the next couple of years.

Elizabeth-

Kerr Center is great source of info at least it was when I lived in Wilburton!

Debbie-

There's a lot more you can do with grapes than just wine and I bet a lot smaller overhead.

Gina- There's some awfully nice people I know that live down there but, stay away from the the 4 counties in the southeast corner of the state if you move there! When I lived down there the sheriff's were drug lords and Marijuana was the #1 cashcrop in those counties. A lot of premature deaths accured in those counties!
