where are processing facilities?greenspun.com : LUSENET : Raising meat rabbits for profit : One Thread
I was wondering if anybody had a list of all the rabbit processing facilities in the U.S., particularly are there any in Texas or Oklahoma? Thanks, Buffy

Buffy, The domestic rabbit magazine publishes a market report. I could not find any processors listed for Tx. or Ok. Any other state that you want me to look up?

The "Market Report" listing of participating processors is published in BOTH the ARBA's "Domestic Rabbits" and the PRMA's "PRMA Journal" magazines. Although not current, you may view a sample issue on the PRMA web site. The "Market Report" can be found on pages 20-21. You will need to have Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer in order to view the sample issue. A link to a free download is provided on the PRMA web site. http://www.prma.org/
With all due respect to the ARBA, these bi-monthly "Market Report" listings are upgraded every two months, but are published in the PRMA Journal almost two full months before appearing in the Domestic Rabbits magazine. It all has to do with closing deadlines for submitting material and publishing dates. This means that the "Market Report" appearing in the current just-issued Jan.-Feb. 2002 Domestic Rabbits is the SAME one which appeared in the PRMA's Nov.-Dec. 2001 issue. The Jan-Feb. PRMA Journal issue containing the latest information was sent out at the end of January.
Every year, the PRMA chooses one issue from the previous years' issues to use as the public "Sample Issue." Later this month, we will be replacing the current Sample Issue with the Nov.-Dec. 2001 issue.
