Hi Aarati.

Have you ever heard of data mining? It a field that crosses the boundaries of Statistics and IT. The basic function of data mining is to extract data in a methodical fashion and examine it for patterns. Once you found the patterns, you can examine them more closely.

Data mining is being used in genome research, marketing, tracking credit card fraud, continuous process improvement, and I suspect, to some degree, business research for investment strategies.

It might be worth looking into.

Hi, Aarati,

First, I don't have "the" one answer, but I can suggest a direction for you. I do know that sorting this kind of question out by yourself can be very, very difficult. I would recommend you find someone who can guide you in the process of accomplishing what you are committed to.

Since I am a professional coach, I am biased and say find a person who's qualified to help you. They won't know what kind of job you will get, or even what industry to look into, but they can help you get clear on the direction you want to go, where your potential lies, where you want to make your contribution, what your contribution is, etc., etc.

A search on the internet should get you a coach nearby.

By the way, I recommend you chose a coach who is not a friend or family member. There's often too much already going on in the relationship between you to for a truly powerful coaching relationship.

You are very ready for a change -- that's loud and clear. Get supported by someone with the skills to guide you, to create a plan of action with you, and support you through the process.

I hope this is helpful. Let me know how it goes. Good luck Camille
