I just came across this in Time. You can comparison shop for health insurance by zip code. Most are a lot cheaper then COBRA.Go to: eHealthInsurance.com

No matter which zip I used, it came back as Celtic Insurance. Unfortunately, they aren't licensed in my state and their rates are higher than what I currently pay with BC&BS.

I tryed it and got back 44 different plans.
