Where can I send tanned hides to make clothes?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I have been given several tanned deer hides but I don't know where to send them to be made into clothing. Can someone recommend a company? Maybe there's an online link that I can check out? Thanks in advance.

You might could get in touch with Tandy Craft leather co. and have them send you a catologe with patterns. You then could make your own clothing. It would be something that you can say that you made yourself.

Charleen, Try Hartville hides and skins in Hartville Ohio. I'm not sure what all they make but what I have seen, coats, gloves.and buckskin outfits, look real nice. They also are a great source for sheepskins, goatskins and beef hides for anyone looking for them. Good luck !
