Wood to gas conversion

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Does anyone have experience converting a woodstove to gas. (LP)? I have a Yotul Combi #4 stove which I would like to convert to gas (via an gas log) either vented or non-vented. Is this practical? Thanks for any advice.

I would not see it as practical. First, gas logs inserts are usually used in fireplaces not stoves. I would think the stove has some values. Sell it and buy a new gas stove. Luckly gas stoves are not overly expensive.

I agree with Gary, that it's not a practical solution. Better & cheaper to buy a gas stove. Sell the woodstove, if you wish. But you may want to keep it, just in case.

Matt and Gary, Thanks for your input. I guess I'll sell my Yotul, Ernest
