Does your refrigerator freeze stuff?

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

We have an old side-by-side that will partially freeze the stuff in the bottom drawer. We have turned the refrigerator down to 3 (out of 9) and it still does this. Any suggestions?

sounds like no insulation between the two sides. Is there a way to see if it has fallen out,,or pulled out? Also,,where is the coils located? near that spot? Has it always dont this?

check and see if you have a slidy bar next to the freezer. it can be closed or open. i would close it and see if that helps also turn the freezer side down to highest setting that will still freeze the stuff in the freezer

Mine freezes stuff at the back of all the shelves. It is expecially hard on lettuce. I try to keep lettuce in the crisper drawers, but they are sometimes full. They do not freeze things. I, too, keep working on the adjustments.

I guess I am not the only one with this problem. I can't put my chicken eggs in the door cause they will freeze. Have you ever tried frying a frozen egg?

Atlot of times freezing will be from the freezer compartment too cold or the coils getting clogged with dirt and dust. Try adjusting the freezer so it is at 0 and clean the back of the fridge where the coils and fan are. Nothing else it is worth a shot.
