Kath

I'm sure you could post as "a 2nd thought for the day"

Kath----- You can't teach a mermaid to do the splits-------- which translates to---"don't spend time trying to do the impossible"-

Ok--Jay this one is for you------ If you give a cow a choice she will go out the wrong gate-----

which translates to: if you want someone to do something, don't give them choices----

how did ya like that one???

Well that's it..... I'm done thinking for the week! LOL!!!

Sonda - I follow your rule with employers! If I need a day off, I don't ask if I can have one, I tell them I'm taking one. However, in the interest of maintaining their delicate power-based egos, I ask them WHICH day off would be better for them (ie "Hey, I gotta take a day out next week - is Monday or Wednesday better for y'all?"). Since they still think they are getting to choose, they're like the frog in the slowly heating water - it never occurs to them that they got boiled.
