My one year old kitten was just spayed a few weeks ago. I was inspecting her inscision and discovered that she only has seven nipples. What could cause this? This is not a joke. nicole

Nicole, I can't resist: if you had her spayed, why does it matter how many nipples she has? She isn't going to be feeding kittens! LOL. Actually, have you ever gone to your state fair, or the carnival, and seen the animal mutations? You know, like the calf with 5 legs. Stuff happens

I've seen dogs with differing/odd numbers of nipples, they aren't always 'two by two' with animals that have multiple service ports.

Unusual numbers occur with all mammals. Not a problem unless the kitten is a show animal. GL!
