I am in need of a lot of buttons,any size or color. Each year I do a benefit program for a group of children in the 5th and 6th grade. I make each of the children a gift for Valentines Day and Easter. The projects I have choosen this year requires a lot of buttons. I am starting now in order to complete them in time. Hate to be a PollyAnna but, just as I alerted this forum to the value of featherweight sewing machines-do you have any idea how valuable old buttons are!? Put on your seatbelt and do a search on ebay before you go giving anything away.

There are sewing and quilting catalogs where you can buy buttons by the pound, they are not old or valuable buttons but they are all colors, you can select size somewhat. From what I recall, they didn't cost a whole lot.

Rebekah, Thank you so much for the info. The project for Valentines Day is a felt heart with buttons and the Easter project is a basket with buttons glued on it. Simple little colorful buttons will work fine. The children get the biggest kick out of the finished project.Thanks Again.
