greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I just recieved a Magic Chef breadmaking machine without instructions, any body know how to cypher this? There are 3 action buttons; Select, Crust (lmd), and Start/stop. There is a timmer with up and down buttons and then a list of 8 items, as follows: 1 to 8; basic, rapid, sweet, french, cake, whole wheat, dough, and bake. I need the sequence of events to make bread, in the kindergarden version please. My first machine.

The company should have a website, or try to call the 1-800 operator to get the company number. Have the model # handy and they should send you out instructions either free or for a couple dollars.

The crust button should allow you select light, med or dark crust. The select button should lead you down the list of 8 itmes, if making basic white bread select this - different types of breads need different cooking times etc... Once you have selected the crust and type of bread press start and that should be it until it finishes baking.

Here is my favorite recipe for Potato Bread

Place the following in this order into the bread maker:

1 1/2 cups of water 2 tbsp of marg or butter 2 tsp of salt 4 tsp of sugar 4 cups of bread flour 1/2 cup of potato flakes 2 1/2 tsp of yeast

use basic setting on bread maker

Go to www.consumerreports.org. There is a button for providing the address and contract point for most major consumer goods manufacturers.

Go to kingarthurflour.com. They have generic bread machine instructions that are very helpful.

I just have a question. I also bought the magic chef breadmaker. It didn't seem to come with any type of blade for kneading. I can't tell if there is supposed to be one or not. It doesn't appear to mix or knead so I thought that might be the problem.

I've got a magic chef breadmaker and there is supposed to be a paddle that slips onto the stud protuding from the bottom of the pan. If you don't have one I don't think you're going to have much luck in making any bread.

I've got this machine. Yes, you do need the paddle to knead the dough. :-) I have lost mine (paddle) and have been searching all over the net trying to find a replacement. I did find the Magic Chef website and sent an e-mail explaining what I needed and the model number but surprise surprise, no answer. Anyone have any luck contacting them?

I also have the Magic Chef breadmaker. I lost my recipe book, and, like most of you, can't find the website. Any suggestions?

I have a Magic Chef breadmaker model ES1850 and have the inst. book, but am looking for a manuf web site or 800 number to get parts. Guess we all have that problem. I may be able to scan the pages you need and post them or email them somewhere...email me since I won't be checking this site again.

Which model(s) do you have?
