may be the best method. It collect demographics if folks are willng to provide them. It allow us to configure check boxes for volunteering, yard signs, email alerts etc.

I don't yet know how to integrate this with other mailing lists that might be purchase or obtained from other political organizations. I presume it's possible.

A web service like this is probably cheaper and more reliable than programmng it youself or purchasing a package to load on the web server.
