THE GOOD OMEN! (Getting Started)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I went to check my new mailbox last weekend and my first piece of mail was the Jan/Feb issue of COUNTRYSIDE. I think it is a good omen! Tomorrow I close on the sale of my house and 2 acres (which had been on the market for over a year... ugh!). Thursday I close on the new place with 5 acres. If all goes well, I should be moving me and the critters right after Christmas. It's my turn to gloat and I write this with a big grin :-D, but I'm still holding my breath till it's all signed, sealed, and done with. Had to share, friends. Aydios, debra in NM at Cuesta Farm... home of happy goats.

Response to THE GOOD OMEN!

Glad to hear that things are going your way. May you have a Merry Cristmas and a good move. The emphasis being on the latter. We just moved a few months ago and would not wish this on anyone, but I know though that the excitement is probably overwhlelming at this time. It will all work out, just give it time. I would gloat too if I were you, you worked hard to get this done and you will be happy with it.

The best goat is a happy goat. I know. Had Toggenburgs for years.

Talk to you later.

It's always great to share your acheivements with others of like mind.We hope to sell this spring and move back to the country.I can't stand it in town. The neighbours are nice but they're tooooo close. My health won't allow me to be with animals every day but I can help my sister in law with them sometimes and with market and gardens and baking etc. Your post keeps my hopes alive while I wait to return to the land.Thank you . firelite

Aye, the Jan/Feb 2002 issues was a good omen for us as well. We had just returned from a roadtrip out to Southern Oregon where we were looking for land to create our dream homestead, and were very excited to discover the Applegate Valley. I look on the cover of the magazine to see the cover story, "Planning your ideal Homestead" and find that the cover photo is none other than the Applegate Valley!!!!
