Hi its me again. I just want to say that i have been feeding her oyster shells a lot. My uncle gave some to me but that was a few months ago and nothing changed. She has been like this for a long time. My mom said that she is a waste of feed and should kill her. Should we just put her out of her misery before the real cold sets in? If she won't get well, i really don't want her around? WHAT SHOULD I DO????!!!!HELP!!!! Kelli

Kelli, I think you should put the poor thing down. A chicken only lives so long. Quality of life is more important than quantity and if she is suffering and can't keep warm, then, it would be a kindness to put her out of her misery. I hope someone would do it for me if I get that bad.

Kelli, did you ask the folks at THE POULTRY CONNECTION, LEGHORN FORUM? There are vets on that forum which may have some ideas for you like feeding her hard cooked eggs, vitamin supplements etc. Maybe this won't help depending on her age but maybe it will. I'd ask the experts if I were you. LQ
