Update on "lilting" (tilting/listing) chicken

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Thanks to everyone who responded to my question a couple of weeks ago about a chicken in heavy molt who was tilting to the left and having difficulty walking in a straight line. Although none of the responses were very hopeful, she is actually doing great now. Her feathers are well on their way back in, she is walking normally, and she no longer tilts! Our other chickens have been unaffected.

I did nothing other than feed her cat food to increase protein. So, I'm still not sure if it was caused by something related to molting or if it was unrelated. Several people have suggested she might have had a mild stroke?

Anyway, I just wanted to let people know, in the hope of helping someone else in the future. Thanks again.

That's great! Now your job is to keep reading the posts and help someone with your experience next time. BTW: you may find cheaper protein by buying bulk dog food or hog feed.
