Health Insurance

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I just received via email an offer for Health Insurance through a PPO and it sounds pretty good. I don't know how to make a link on this site, so if I could forward the email to someone who does, it might help all those out there who can't afford insurance. The email says it does not exclude pre-existing conditions, and the cost is very low, so if someone (not everyone at once, please) will send me an email, I will forward this advertisment on so it can be linked to from here. I know a lot of people on this forum need insurance, so this might be a way to get some good medical coverage fairly reasonable. The ad says $49. per month, but I do not know if that is per person or per family. As usual, you will have to check it out yourselves and make sure it meets your needs.

Thanks Cindy

Maybe this will work - www.fullaccessmedical.com

Anyway, Ken - you know how to make a link, can you do it?

I am an insurance agent and $49 is almost unheard of. If it's to good to be true it usually isn't. What state do you live in??There are some companies who have internet sites but not in all states.

I've been without health insurance for about five years now. And am in the midst of a very painful tooth abcess. Thank goodness the doctor here was understanding about my lack of funds.

In the meantime I found out about a state program that I am eligible for. It's for those who fall through the cracks of not being poor enough and not being rich enough. Paperwork takes a month to process however. I wait with crossed fingers and my antibiotics and nsaids by my side.

I'd check with your state about hidden programs like this. I'd also look into state and community colleges. Oftentimes inexpensive health insurance is offered to part time as well as full time students. Maybe you could take a course or two. Work your brain a bit and get insurance coverage at the same time.

Texas has a program like this. It's called CHIP(childrens health insurance program). It's only for kids but at least they get taken care of. It also covers dental and it is very low cost(15$)to free. If you live in texas call1-800-647-6558.

It is not health insurance. You have to pay the doctor but at some large discount. Hard to say if it is worth it or not. I would guess a stay in the hospital would cost you plenty.
