Spice tea recipe

Does anyone have a receipe for a "Christmas spice tea"? I think it uses instant tea and the one I saw had little "red hots" cinnamon candy in it.

YEP YEP YEP! My friend made this a few weeks ago at a framing party. It was soooo good! 2 cups sugar 3/4 cups instant tea 2 cups tang or orange drink mix 2 tsp. cinnamon (ground) 1 tsp. cloves (ground) 1 package cinnamon buttons or what we call red hots!

She put it in a mason jar and just let us mix it into some hot water that we had down at the building site. It was very good! Smells great too! I would use 3 tsp. in a cup, but some only put 2 tsp. in theirs. I liked the "strong" stuff! heehee!

Nan, What size package of red hots? Or approx cup measurement? We sometimes see them in bulk candy bins. Thank you.

thanks Ladies - I knew someone would have it! I got a sample at a Christmas craft sale this weekend - thought I would make some up for gifts but needed the recipe! It was packaged in snack size ziploc baggies, hole punched at the top and tied with raffia with a small stick of cinnamon stuck in the raffia and a printed label on red cardstock paper labeled "Chrismas Spice Tea". Really cute to be tied on a package or tucked into a Chrismas mug as a gift. Thanks for the recipe. Daisy

Looked like a small package to me. Probably one of those ones that are 59 cents for one or 2 for a dollar. It wouldn't be bad with more though. I will ask my friend when I see her next what size bag. When I make it I am going to get one of those bulk sized bags of red hots in the supermarket or Walmart. Yummy! I think that they are 9 0z. bags.

Talked to my friend Sunday and she said that she uses a whole big bag of redhots. They were the little redhots, not the big ones that are nearly as big as a marble around. I think that she said that it was the 9 oz bag and that she only brought half the recipe to the framing party. YUM!
