I was wondering if anyone had a recipe for a soap that would compare to Fels Napha for the home soap maker??

Hey Diane,

I think I remember reading about Fels Naphtha containing naphthalene, or some such chemical. At one point, their factory blew up. My facts may be fuzzy, but from what I read, it seems a bit complicated and dangerous to try to incorporate naphthalene into homemade soap, IMHO. Hope this helps.

Thanks Laura........I thought maybe it was a simple recipe. When I was in Haiti the mountain women made a wonderful soap that looked and worked like Fels Napha so I assumed it would be a simple recipe. I wish I had had some time when I was in the mountain villages but was overwhelmed with patients in the clinics and never really got to "visit". Rats, was really hoping that I could make some!!!
