goat milking

Hi, I milk my doe at around 9:30 or 10:00 twice a day, occasionally we have to get home later, my sister's baby is in ICU and we often visit him in the evenings. If I know that we have to be home later than 10:00 would it bother the doe if I milk her before we leave and again when I get home sometimes?

I would just milk her a little later in the morning, if you know you will be late that night and then again when you get home.

It is not that big of a deal. The does are used to you, and your schedules. If for the next several weeks they get milked late night, they will adjust, and just have more milk for that milking instead of the usual morning milking. You could also milk before you left, and just let them go until morning, obviously they would have alot more milk in the morning. Just keep them empty and fed, that's all they really care about! I remember when we first got our goats. We were frantic if we didn't get to milk at the same time twice a day....city slickers ?? But goats are forgiving and it doesn't really bother them much if you are a little late. Just explain to them (your goats) your situation and I am sure they will understand. Good Luck !!
