The Times They Are A-Changin'

Come gather 'round people Wherever you roam And admit that the waters Around you have grown And accept it that soon You'll be drenched to the bone If your time to you Is worth savin' Then you better start swimmin' Or you'll sink like a stone For the times they are a-changin'.

Come writers and critics Who prophesize with your pen And keep your eyes wide The chance won't come again And don't speak too soon For the wheel's still in spin And there's no tellin' who That it's namin' For the loser now Will be later to win For the times they are a-changin'.

Come senators, congressmen Please heed the call Don't stand in the doorway Don't block up the hall For he that gets hurt Will be he who has stalled There's a battle outside And it is ragin' It'll soon shake your windows And rattle your walls For the times they are a-changin'.

Come mothers and fathers Throughout the land And don't criticize What you can't understand Your sons and your daughters Are beyond your command Your old road is Rapidly agin' Please get out of the new one If you can't lend your hand For the times they are a-changin'.

The line it is drawn The curse it is cast The slow one now Will later be fast As the present now Will later be past The order is Rapidly fadin' And the first one now Will later be last For the times they are a-changin'.

After seeing almost 30 years of Bob Dylan concerts you have to expect the unexpected at times. I don't know if it was because the city he was playing at (Grand Rapids,Mich.)and they had banned him from singing certain songs that made this concert totally weird or what. He played like him and his band were the only ones there and I mean some long instrumental parts in between words. There was no warm up band, concert start time on ticket was 7:30 pm and here he comes out on stage at 7:45pm and starts singing and he played for 2 hrs and 20 minutes without a break. Then he gave 4 encores! I am still amased that at almost 60 years old he can still rock them from pre-teens to grandparents. They were dancing in the aisles at the end.

Stan,

Yes, he had a small singing part in the video and record (if your talking about the "We are the World" one) along with 2 dozen others.

Hey, We saw him this summer at the Missouri State Fair. One of the things I've always wanted to do before I die things. It was a beautiful summer evening. the crowd was small. and he sang and sang and sang. His musicians were excellent. To the people who didn't come because "he's just an old hippie" THANK YOU !!!! It was a great concert and we loved it !!
