We had a spooky stories thread at one point, anyone remember where that was? We could drag it back up . . .

Gather round childrens... I was nursing my son in the middle of a stormy nights. It was a cold winter storms and the baby had been woken by the racket of the creakings and groanings of the house. As I rocked him and nursed him, I was staring up at the ceiling thinking about the homestead we would have when he got bigger and then..the attic trap door opened about 6 inches and closed again with a BANG!! Oooooh scareeeey.... 'Course it was the wind.

My 17 year old daughter killed herself in her bedroom (long story over a boy she broke up with and getting a 26 on her a.c.t.'s at school. She was really devastated at the latter because she swore she would get a 30 by her last year in high school and said no college would take her with such a poor score. I could not make her see what a good score she got! yes we did have her to a therapest(?) but she did not put her on any med's, after 3 visits she passed away.)three years ago. Well the next day after everyone left and it was just my husband and I, a shadow started around the walls in the living room. At first I thought it was a car going by with their lights on, but it kept going by and we were not hearing a car. We realized it was going around all four walls and the hair stood up on the back of my neck. It was Dec.9 just the day after. After we had watched it go around the walls a dozen times we realized it was a huge horse fly walking in circles in the light fixture on the celling. LOL My husband just looked at me and said, what were you thinking? I just said by Trina and he said me to. We never talked about it again. I have never seen a horse fly in Dec. before or after she passed and it gives me goose bumps thinking about it.

Another one my grandma use to tell. My grandfather went to town on the buckboard and it would take him all day to get there get the things they needed and get home. Well she heard the buckboard comming up the long drivway late that night and looked out and saw the lantern jiggling on it, so she sliped on her shoes and ran out to open the gate for him. There was a gate around the house a gate around the barn and pasture and a gate around the whole place. Well when she ran out he was not there and she said she thought to her self how did he get in the barn so fast and went to the barn. Well he was not in the barn either. She thought he was playing tricks on her and it made her mad, so when he did get home about two hours later she went out opened the gates for him the whole time letting him have it. Well he kept telling her he did not come home earlyer and he was not playing any tricks on her. They lived way out in the country and it could not have been somone else. She said if it was not him God was trying to warn her about somthing. Two days latter her 7 year old daughter at the dinner table started choking and they could not get the food dislodged and started for the doctors in town as quick as they could. Well half way there, there is a little church where they stoped to get her a drink of water thinking that might help. Just after the drink of water she passed away. My grandma says it was god prepairing her for what was going to happen. It seemed to give her peace of mind thinking god was letting her know he was getting ready to take that child home with him, as she says.
