Looking for Tamworth or Gloucester Old Spotted Pigs

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

We are looking for Tamworth or Old Gloucester Spotted pigs. We live in Northern New York by Canada and would like to know if anyone has any to sell or where I can purchase them?

These guys raise a number of rare breeds, to include Gloucestershire Old Spots pigs. They're in Lincolnville, Maine, which is a lot closer to you than western Washington, where I know of another breeder. Hope they can help you out.

Contact the American Minor Breeds Conservancy at P.O. Box 477, Pittsboro, NC 27312 (last phone number I have is 919-542-5704). They should be able to provide a list of breeders for both breeds.

We have a pair of Tamworth pigs, a litter due first week of Dec. These are really neat pigs. We are located in North Central Indiana though, quite a distance from you. Kim

Robin Follette in Maine has Gloucester Old Spots and plans to breed in the spring if she has a waiting list for the babies.

Jackie, My name is Dennis Croy and I am from Northwest Missouri. I have been raising Tamworth hogs for about 5 years and nothing but good has come of them. If you call and give me your address then I can at least send you information on them. We have found that it is very expensive to send pigs in a plane. My phone number is (660) 663-2463. Thanks, Dennis
