More on solar christmas lights

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Thanks for the ideas. Yes, it is nuts to talk about Christmas already but you'll really think I'm CRAZY when I tell you the lights are for a tree at my Mother's grave. She was a young 64 year old cancer victim we lost this year and miss terribly. She loved to decorate with lights and now my brother and I feel a desire to do this. She has a great pumpkin right now. Anyway, brother and I thought we might be able to rig something up using one of those outdoor solar yard lights and a string of lights. We'll see. Yep, I'm nuts! Thank you again for the ideas. Christi, You should have said what for in your first post and then you would have got a-plenty of ways. howabout trying to find maybe battery powered lights and a timer. Outdoor solar yard light might not give you enough power for a string of lights. I 'll have to think abit on this some more. Good Luck

ps: your not crazy just a nice daughter

Christi, what a nice thought, and not to rain on your parade, but beware that what u put out might get stolen. Lots of this happening in our town again. I just don't get some people. Sad but true. :-(

According to my computer geek brother, there are LED battery powered Christmas lights available, do a "google search" to find who carries them and how to order. LED draws very little, and the batteries would last a very long time.

My mother-in-law has been searching lately for this very same thing to use on my late sister-in-law's grave. So far, she hasn't found any ,but hasn't used the computer to look yet.
