Anyone in western NY ? Buffalo-Rochester area? (Horses)greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
I have to trailer a horse across the boarder (Can-Am) and meet the new owner and load him onto her trailer. Does anyone live close by, or know of a horse friendly place? I plan to travel along HWY 90 after crossing at Buffalo. Many thanks,

I was born and raised in western NYS near Buffalo, but live in AR now. I may be able to help, what do you mean by a horse friendly place? I know of some breeders back there (horse) who may be able to assist or I can maybe tell you of a safe place.Bernice

Thanks Bernice,I am mostly looking for a place that is quiet and safe, and not far off the HWY. At present the other lady suggested a Walmart parking lot, but that isn't really my idea of safe for a horse. If you know of a rural type rest spot, or know someone who would let us use their farm courtyard, I would appreciate the help.

My understanding is inspection at the Canadian/U.S. border has been far most stringent since Sept 11th. Please make sure you have all of the health, etc. papers before hand to import a horse into the U.S.

Probably the wrong direction. I am an 2 hours from Buffalo in PA. But you are welcome to use my farm.
