Has anyone made raisins? If so, is there a particular grape that works better than others?

Thanks, Amy

My three year old daughter made some raisins the other day. We pulled one of the seat cushions off the couch the other day and to our surprise....Dried grapes, some still on the little vine. Also found a half eaton corn dog and a sticky sucker.

Dry Thompson seedless grapes....voila, raisins! You can also dry cranberries for cranraisins. Very good.

Amy,

I prefer the red seedless grapes when drying them in the dehydrator to make raisins. I use the green (white) seedless Thompsons too but the red ones make a sweeter raisin and the green (white) seedless Thompsons make a more "tart" raisin.

I use my "homemade" raisins every day on my oatmeal! Gave some to my accountant at the office the other day too along with some dehydrated cinnamon-sugar apples. He loved em and wanted to know "where I got them" LOL When I told him I "made" them, he was quite taken by surprise.

Best to you and yours, Greenthumbelina
