Temperature gage needed for a Consolidated Dutchwest wood stove

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Hi Fellow Countrysiders,

I'm hoping one of you out there would have an answer for this. I own a Consolidated Dutchwest wood burning stove. I was manufactured by Vermont Castings. The model no. is: FA264. I need a new thermometer for the top of it. I was told that Vermont Castings merged into another company, or etc.

Would anyone have any ideas of where to find this new thermometer?

Take care.

Carole

Consider using a oven thermometer. It will at least tell you the temperature on the top surface.

They merged with Majestic but are still operating full tilt. You can get about any part you need by calling the 800 number on the back of their literature. I have it somewhere if you can not find yours. They will tell you where the closest dealers are located.

We bought a new thermometer from a store that sells wood stoves. Granted, it sold Dutchwests but I'm sure they would be able to get you one.

Don't have an answer for your question, but I wanted to know if you can still buy a Dutchwest stove? I had one living at 10,600 ft as my only source of heat. That baby was my saving grace. I have moved since, but would give anything to find another stove like that one. Email me if you know!! Otherwise I will try to find Majestic? Thanks!!
