Anyone have a good way to get rid of the pests ?

I pour some apple cider vinegar in a bowl or cup and add a few drops of Dawn dishwashing liquid into it. Set it on the counter and in the morning you should see all those fruitflies on the bottom. I haven't been bothered by them this fall yet. Can't remember if I added some water to the vinegar or not. So try both ways.

I also use cider vinegar but cover the cup with punctured saran wrap so the little @#$ can't get out. That dish soap idea is great. I'm going to give that a try too!

I use a mix of vinegar, honey and olive oil as an all organic ingredient gnat trap at my vermicompost bins and in the kitchen during harvest processing. I have also used a little homemade wine instead of vinegar and it seems to attract them faster. When they bait to the honey and wine , the oil catches them. I had a saucer completely covered in under 24 hours and the kitchen gnat free using the wine/honey/oil bait.
