Hi everyone, With the income shrinking because of lower interest rates, and us old people have our money in cds, our income has been cut in half, so its just social security and a little money from the cds, I fear any more interest rate drops. but any way need to buy my vitamins in one bottle, as I was buying a lot of them seperate, What do you do> and yes we do eat of veg, and some fruit, try real hard to eat healthy, but feel we need a little more in the way of vitamins. And how are you elderly copying with less money? God Bless Irene

Irene - I care for my elderly mother and the number of her pills kept increasing with many of them being over the counter vitamins. I discussed this with her doctor, and we have gone to Vitamin B-50 complex that has everything she needs with the exception of Vitamin E. You might look at the label and see if that one fits the bill for your needs. Carole

I know what you mean about the shrinking interest rate drops, but look at the good news; how much farther can it shrink before people start saying to themselves, "Okay, let me get this straight . . . you will pay me about 5 - 7% interest on my accounts, but if I borrow from you will pay you 16% and above? Are you bankers out of your collective minds?" or something like that. I have a feeling that interest rates are going to start climbing again. I'm am no expert at financial matters, but still feel this way.

On the vitamin front, I purchase generic multi - vitamins from Wally World or Sam's Club. Your diet sounds like one of these types would be enough; raw vegetables and fruits is a very healthy diet few of us (me included) adhere to. Pinto beans and rice form a good protein source nearly complete with all essentials, I'm told.

Given that a lot of what we take in vitamin pills is wasted by either not being properly absorbed, or being unstorable (as in vit. C), you may want to try a product called "Vita-Mist" (just run a search on that phrase and you should get a few website hits). It is a spray vitamin that you spray into your mouth. Absorbtion is nearly 100% and FAST! I tried the B12 and Ginseng supplement that they were sampling at a local trade show and within 5 minutes I had to sit down because of the B12 rush! (Warning - no spraying and driving!!! LOL) It wore down in a few minutes, but it was enough to convince me - never had that from a pill. They have many different combinations, as well as some herbal supplement formulations, and a few extras like "diet sprays" (appetite suppressors with sweet-tooth flavors) and pet vitamins (sounds like that'd be really handy if pups or puddies, or even livestock, got sick and needed a quick and absorbtion-guarenteed boost).

The bottles are about 12 bucks and last about a month if you spray as per directions, although you can adjust the dosage by spraying more or less as your requirements dictate. Even if it seems higher priced than the store bought cheapo pills, remember that only about half of what you take that way gets absorbed, on a good day, and refigure the expense that way. As many a doctor has said, Americans have the world's most expensive urine! Don't piss it all away ;)
