I leave my Svhs deck plugged into my card via Splug. Then when I want to edit video from my Hi8, I plug it into the front of the Svhs and run it through to the card. Should put the Splug straight to the camcorder? Is there any real loss the way I'm doing it? Or is it just like using a slightly longer cable?

I have tried both ways and i do it the way you do cause its easier.i havent seen any difference in the other way but some might argue.
