Seed packs for five cents each (Gardening (general))greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread |
Went to our local Big Lots and bought seeds twenty packs for a dollar. They are all 2001 season. Many are going into the ground today, the rest are going into vacuum seal with dissicant and a dark container till spring. Maybe next year I can afford a nitrogen cannister to gas seal some.

Hey Jay! Did you get the flower garden mix or are you strictly a vegetable guy? The flower mix is beautiful. Cosmos, larkspur, poppies, marigolds, zinnia, baby's breath, mountain garland, bachelor buttons. Real pretty. Our local bluebird society buys a lot of these seeds and passes them out at the county fair. My rutgers tomatoes and green pepper seed came from Big Lots. What a cheap way to make and can spaghetti sauce!

At the price, we bought everything they had left ($7.10 worth). Mostly veggies, but flowers too. Flowers can be a decent cash crop also and the jack-o-lantern pumpkins are in the raised bed tonite. Hope they get ready in time.
