Countryside and Small Stock Journal back issues...FREE

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

The September/October issue of Countryside went to the printer last Friday, and if everything stays on schedule, subscriber copies will be mailed in another 3 weeks. We’ll have 2 skids delivered to us here at the office as well, and we’re wondering where the heck we’re going to put them.

Countryside is put together in a small office (The former Nightingale tavern) on the edge of the Chequamegon National Forest. We’ve been in our current location for about 13 years, and in that time managed to crank out 78 issues of the magazine. Most of those issues are sold out, others we ran short of (like the current one!), and on several we ended up with a lot of extras. We do have a shed out back, but it’s full, and with more on the way it looks like it’s time to go to the recycle center.

There are 12 issues in particular we have a lot of , and to make room it looks like we have to throw a good chunk of them away. What a waste!

So here’s our idea: We’ll send those 12 issues to anyone that wants them for free, if you’re willing to pay the postage. Actual postage depends on where you live, but $4 should be pretty close to a national average. If you need them in Canada, add another $3.

The most recent copy you’ll get is 85/2 (March/April 2001) while the oldest of the 12 is 80/2 (March/April, 1996). They all contain a lot of solid, timeless homesteading information, and total over 1,500 pages, counting the ads.

This 6 pound package is great for anyone who needs to round out their collection, share great homesteading information with friends or family (how about that neighbor who always borrows your copy) or maybe you’re one of the 16 people on this forum who’ve never even seen the magazine. Here’s your chance to take advantage of a real bargain when you get all 12.

Here is the complete list of issues we’ll be sending you: 80/2, 82/1, 82/2, 82/3, 83/3, 83/4, 83/5, 84/1, 84/2, 84/3, 84/4, 85/2.

To get your package send your name, address and $4 by one of the following: email us by clicking the address below, phone 800-551-5691, fax 715-785-7414, or mail to: Countryside, W11564 Hwy 64, Withee WI 54498.

There is no time limit on this offer, but supplies are limited, and when they’re gone, they’re gone forever. We’ll send your order out the day we receive it. Enjoy!

This special offer is being made only to the readers of this forum so we don't expect to run out of the back issues listed any time soon.

We're glad to hear that those of you who have already received your issues are enjoying them, and happy we didn't have to just chuck them.

Woooo hoooo . . . . I have finally heard from someone at Countryside and managed to send my check for these back issues and WOW!!! My issues arrived so quickly and I am thrilled (absolutely tickled) to get these!!!

I didn't find Countryside Magazine until recently, got my free trial issue and subscribed (and the mag is soooo good I didn't even mind that the "free" issue wasn't really free after all but counted in your years subscription!!!)!!! I just LOVE COUNTRYSIDE!!!!!

And this forum is AWESOME as well.

Thanks all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I just asked if they still had this offer going, and they do. I thought that they would all be gone by now.
