Old Jake, and other stuff.. [Warning!!--don't open!!!]

Well, the temps hit close to 100 here today and it was rather brutal. It didn't bother the old fat man very much tho. I spent the afternoon inside the house under a/c! Lots of old folks don't have the luxury of havin a/c and for that I'm truly sad. I don't like to see animals stressed by this heat either although they don't compare to human life---they are still important and should be taken care of as best we can. Old Jake was not doin real good today--he's got a "hole" he lays in-in the barn. Flys are not so bad in the cool dark barn and he isn't nearly as hot in there either. Ole Jeep does have a fan that he turns on for the old dude. Lots of water and shade--he'll most likely do ok.

Another thing to check on is new trees that have been set out this summer. They'll need lots of water too along with maybe some shade to keep'm from wiltin. For ya'll that have a/c's--check those filters and wash out the coils if they are dirty. When mowin outside throw the grass clippins away from the a/c unit.

If'n ya'll are workin outside drink all kinds of water and find some shade every llittle whip-stitch.

"Ya'll think it's hot here----what about hell?" Matt.24:44

WARNING!!!! Continue on at your own risk!!!!

I made a real "BRILLIANT" statement in this post--about drinkin "all kinds of water". For fear of upsettin some folks--I meant to say "drink a bunch of water". We already know most all water is polluted anyhow--unless it's treated with CHEMICALS--but it'll keep ya'll from dyin of dehydration or heat stroke!

Pure, Clean and Clear water in Heaven. Sure will be nice to drink of the water of life there someday---and it's all FREE! Matt.24:44

I enjoy your posts Hoot. I think there will be extra blessings for those who say it like it is. To God be the glory. Love in Christ, Judy

It is the time of the year to make *sure* you stay on top of the livestock water. My dog more than doubles the amount of water she drinks in the summer compared to what she drinks in the early spring. Dogs, poultry and other animals don't eliminate body heat the way we humans do and if they run short of water and begin to dehydrate they can quickly expire on you if you're not paying attention. Keep on top of your stock and pet water supplies.
