The easiest garlic bread recipe that I ever tried was to brush thick slices of french or italian bread with a nice italian dressing (perhaps one of those parmesan or extra garlic-y ones) and broil. Works great, and if the dressing is a little light on the garlic, you can always add some more before broiling.

Lisa: here's a garlic bread recipe I often make. For four servings: 2 10inch sub rolls split lengthwise. 1/2 c. butter, 1/2 tsp. garlic powder, 1/4 c. parmesean cheese 1/2 c. or more shredded mozzarella cheese; black pepper. Blend butter and garlic powder. Spread the butter on the split rolls. Divide remaining ingredients evenly between the rolls, starting with the parmesean. Sprinkle lightly with black pepper. Bake in 350 degree oven for 5-8 minutes, or just until mozzarella cheese melts. Cut into serving size pieces. Serve w. spaghett or whatever. Saw this on tv years ago. Makes a flavorful, crunchy garlic bread everyone seems to like. Hope it works for you. stef
