I remember seeing an orange M5 cab lettered for CN&L. This was well into the SBD era. I thought it strange at the time, since it had been a long time since I had seen an SCL orange cab. How many of these CN&L cabs were there? Incidentally, the last time I saw it was around 1/86, when it had been re# w/ an SBD 9... number

There were two C.N.&L. M-5 cabs, 30 and 31. I saw both of them frequently from 1967 through 1979. They were the regular cabs for trains 371/372 and 567/568. When I first saw 31 in Columbia in the yard between Lady Street and Green Street, the conductor invited me aboard for a look inside his "new" caboose. The C.N.&L. men were very proud of these two cabs.Steve Kamp
