I ran across the following link describing how to build a power generator using lawn mower engine and a car alternator. This web page also contains a link to another article on converting a small gas engine to propane. The owners of this web site do sell parts and assumably at a profit. For the Y2k non event, I mounted a bracket and alternator at the grass chute and changed the blade to a pulley and belt.
