Did boys track compete or was it rained out?

2001 Track Alum Bateman Takes SWAC 100, 200 Titles

Grady alum Jeremy Bateman swept the Southwestern Athletic Conference Championship Outdoor Track Championships in the 100 and 200 and was named the meet's outstanding performer on May 9.

Bateman's Alabama State team was conference champion and Bateman also ran a leg on the school's winning 4x100 meter relay, which posted a 40.31.

Bateman, who last year ran a pr of 20.90 in the 200 at conference, this year ran a pr of 10.33 in taking the 100 meter title. He won the 200 with a 21.21 this year.

Bateman expects to compete on May 15 at the Georgia Tech Invitational in the 4x100. The meet is the same day as the boys state track finals.

Bateman holds the Grady school record in the 200 meters of 21.33 (hand- time) and anchored Grady's school record 4x400, which ran 3:23.55 in a second-place finish at the 2001 state meet. He was second leg on Grady's school record 4x100 team in 2000, which posted a time of 42.5.

Also, correction to post of results for Region 5AA

Isaac Coleman finished 7th in the 400 meters, not 7th. Wes Vernon also finished 7th in the 1600 in addition to his 5th place 3200 finish. Anthony Edwards finished 7th in the discus. And the final result of the 4x400 relay was a 4th place finish.
