Cracking Down on Smutty Replies (Forum Related)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Within the past couple of weeks 4-5 extremely inappropriate postings have been brought to my attention and deleted. This is an announcement I will be taking a more proactive approach by recording the cookie of the poster and will then try to match it up with other postings. These postings seem very juvenile, so I suspect it may be someone's kid.

For those who will cry of censorship - either live with it or complain to Dave. However, if you can't stand the answer, don't ask the question.

It's probably some kid who hasn't enough chores outside to do! IMHO Ken, delete, delete, delete! Anyone with any good taste wouldn't want that kind of post in a family-oriented forum anyway. God bless!

Sounds good to me- Thanks, Ken.

Probably too little too late, but good luck anyway.

Call it censorship if you will but I totally agree with what Ken is attempting to do. I see no need whatever for vulgar, smutty "R" stuff on this forum. I'm sure there are other places to post that garbage, but CS Forum isn't the place. Thanks, Ken!

Hey Ken! Way to go!! I'm behind you all the way. Filth can be deposited elsewhere! Many a good forum has been ruined by this type of mentality. Thanks. OLe hoot. Matt.24:44

Odd. Received a failure to deliver notice on one I deleted about a week ago. (Sent them a notice their posting was extremely inappropriate.) It appears my notice went to the server at MIT.
