Apparently, Secretary of State Colin L. Powell has quickly made the world a safer place. So he cut the security detail of his predecessor, Madeleine K. Albright, from the maximum six months Congress had allowed to two months -- ending March 20.
Security folks felt the threat had subsided, a department official said. But there was buzz that some security folks thought the move a bit premature.
