---------------------------------------------------------------------- -- BILL WILLIAMSON STAFF WRITER ---------------------------------------------------------------------- -- A former Viking may be moving closer to signing with the Denver Broncos, for whom a prospective Viking has decided to play. The agent for left tackle Todd Steussie continued negotiations with the Broncos on Tuesday. Steussie's agent, David Dunn, said a deal could be completed this week, although he didn't specify the team. Steussie was released from the Vikings on March 14 in a decision motivated by salary cap considerations. Meanwhile, defensive tackle Chester McGlockton has agreed in principle to join Denver. The Vikings are about $2 million under the salary cap with most of that money earmarked for their picks in next month's draft. * Tight end Johnny McWilliams might be close to signing with New England. The Vikings, who chose to go with newly signed Byron Chamberlain as their starter, don't plan to re-sign McWilliams. The Vikings might decide to re-sign John Davis as a backup.
