No, but the castle, or whatever, is in Coral Gables, FL. If you call their Chamber of Commerce they should be able to help you.

Forgot to say: It is in Homestead, Florida (near Miami) and was built between 1920-1940 by a Latvian immigrant, Edward Leekskalnin for his lost love...or so says http://www.mm2000.nu/sphinxr.html

Some other good site are www.coralcastle.com http://floridainfo.com/travel/southfla/mustsee/coral.htm http://www.labyrinthina.com/coral.htm

Just copy and paste into your browser. Very interesting but filled with new age thinking.

We visited the Coral Castle when my husband was stationed at Homestead AFB -- it was VERY impressive! According to the information, the man who built it was short and very slight, but he moved huge blocks of coral to make his compound and structures, including an enormous door that pivots at a touch. I'm glad we got to see it. But someone told my husband that the place sustained a lot of damage in a hurricane a while back -- if anyone knows the current status of it, I'd be interested to hear. It's the kind of place that makes you realize that there isn't any such word as "can't". If he could do that, then we can do anything we set our minds and hearts to. So it has actually been an encouragement to us over the years.

The current issue of "National Hobby News", newspaper has a long article about the castle in it. This is complete with detailed info and some pictures. You might want to contact Woody Russell, the editor at e-mail Russ.1219@netchannel.net for more information, and he may have some copies available. The article is on page 15.

Boy I love a mystery! How in the world could the guy have managed all that by himself! Dern he could have maybe been able to teach his technique if he hadn't been so crazy! I hope one day to see it but florida is a long way from Calif. Thanks for responding....Kirk
