Go to www.vcdhelp.com and get a copy of "dat2mpg". It runs on the command line in a DOS window.

For some odd ball reason all video files on VCD's are named "music01.dat"..."musicXX.dat". Some legacy convention I suppose.

I haven't been able to get WinMediaPlayer to play *.dat's in W95- W98SE, but have in WinME.

I finally gave up on Realplayer. Too much overhead and lack of support for third party codec's.

music01.dat is the file name like asveq01.dat given by the Adaptec burn program.

see if this helps http://www.vcdhelper.com/convertbin.htm
