Domed Greenhouse

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

While living in Pagosa Springs Colorado there were some people that made Domed Greenhouses. They were made from some sort of insulated glass...had a cistern type water storage in the ground for a stored heat source so you could grow in them year round even at hight altitudes. Anyone know the company name or website? We now live at 10,000 feet and will need this type of greenhouse. thanks Lynette

I don't know of any glass domed greenhouses, but if my memory serves me right - www.pacificdomes.com has clear domes for greenhouses that should work well.

You might want to investigate the type of Greenhouse that Anna Edey has designed, called Solviva. She has written a book, "Solviva:How to grow $500,000 on one acre, and Peace on Earth". It is published by a small publisher, Trailblazer Press. The ISBN number is 0966234901. She built hers on Martha's Vineyard, on the Massachusetts' coast, and makes it through winter without fuel inputs to keep the thing warm enough to grow plants.
