What are you thankful for? (family)

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

I am deep in thought today! There have been a couple of posts lately that have made me wonder. What things in your life are you thankful for? All over the world people struggle, but we are very fortunate as a community of Countrysiders.

I find myself thankful for my families health, the love and support of my husband, the wisdom of my grandparents, beauty of nature, the ability to still do a good days work and so much more.

What are your thought's!

Ooooohhh!! Good question!

I am thankful for my gracious Heavenly Father.

I am SO VERY THANKFUL for my wonderful husband and 2 girls! We are healthy and together, anything beyond that is just 'stuff'.

Mostly for Jesus Christ getting up on that cross that day and taking my sins with him, then getting up out of that hole three days later and making me all free and clear from debt.

Worldly things I'm thankful for are my 91-year-old mother being healthy and of sound mind and all those great times we spent together in an old cane rocking chair when I was about three or four years old. And for everything I have now that I couldn't have without what Mom and Dad provided me with and the direction they gave me to be the person I am today, although over the years I sometimes drifted away from that life but something always seemed to slam me up beside the head and direct me back.

I'm thankful that after a long and tedious day of chest x-rays, echo cardiograms, and one long trip to Childrens Mercy Hospital in Kansas City, my little daughter Ruth was declaired to have an "innocent heart murmor". That means it sounds aweful strange but she has no cardiac problems. AKA Clean bill of health.

Thanks be to God. (Now I can sleep)

I'm thankfull for the health of my baby, the effectiveness of all those prayers, and the support and undying assistence of my kind loving husband, Randy.

Yah!!Marty, Good news about little Ruth.

-- Kari (prettyhere@truevine.net), January 25, 2001.

We've been praying for you all, so Thankful that the baby is OK! Another thing for us all to be thankful for!

Good News Marty! I too have a heart murmor, at least that is what one doctor said years ago. When I go to the dentist, since I put "yes" to heart murmor on the forms, they make me take antibotics for a few days before any work is done. Not a problem really, quess it's better to be safe.

I'm thankful for all of you here, and your friendship. Good friends are few and far between these days.

Yea Marty! So glad to hear about Ruth. Thanks for letting us know and isn't that sleep going to feel sooooo good!??? I'm thankful that God listens to our prayers and the prayers of a little girls parents.

I've had a heart murmur for 45 years and all the doctors say it's no big deal, but I also take those antibiotics before dental work.

I have so many blessings I wouldn't know which one to put first. I think family, friends and health. What else is more important? I had a little scare this spring and it really opened my eyes to a lot of things. I pray I always remember to be thankful. I am so glad to know that little Ruth is going to be fine.

I am thankful for my salvation, my husband, my kids, our land and all the critters. For every day nobody is sick or dies, for food we raise and put by ourselves for our friend who works so untiringly with our daughter, for our health, for my 92 yr old mother even though she sometimes wears me out, for our paid for house and land,...need I go on. You guys (and gals) are so great. I have tears beading up in my eyes reading about all of you who were praying for us. It worked! We were told before we went to expect what might be unpleasent news, what a turn of events! I really do think it was the prayers.

-- Marty (Mrs.Puck@Excite.com), January 26, 2001.

Two beautiful, intelligent loving little boys that God gave me to raise, a wonderful husband who puts up with more than his fair share of dumping on, a great father who loves me and loved my mother with every inch of his being (setting a great example to us kids what real love was), and a family who, although they can't be part of my daily life, are there for me no matter what, friends who care, the joy of sunshine, and the knowledge that if the world fell apart tomorrow, we'd be better off than most, because security isn't necessarily about dollars and hours worked, but about what you can supply of your family's needs through effort and ingenuity.

What's not to be grateful for! If you're experiencing it, it's either helping you grow and attain your higher self or helping someone else attain theirs, so it's all good!

I'm thankful for life as it is..not necessarily the qualntity(length) but the quality in which we do have some say.

Hey everyone, i am worried b/c for a year and a half i have been experiencing heart pain and i finally went in and the doctor said i have a heart murmor and thats all he said. except for the fact that he wants me to come back in to an ultrasound of my heart and i am worried aboud how a heart murmor is going to affect my life and i am only 16 yrs old. Please help me understand what this is. I am so thankful for the wonderful doctors who delievered my sister and me 3 months early with nothing wrong with us but the weight of 3lbs 15 oz. And now to find out i have a heart murmor it makes me wonder if anything else will start to show up. But i am so very thankful to the lord for even letting me join this world with my sister and my mother healthy. Thanks GOD!

Brenda:

Please don't worry. Heart murmurs are very common for people who were premature babies. I know. I am one and I am living already to a ripe sort of old age (middle age). It has made no difference in my life except that I take antibiotics before I have any dental work done. Tell your dentist you have a heart murmur BEFORE you have your teeth cleaned. Did that help?
