Just a Neighborly Hello.

greenspun.com : LUSENET : Countryside : One Thread

Hello, I found this forum a couple of days ago and have had lots of fun. My DH and I grew up on farms and moved to the city 15 yrs ago after we were married. Five children later, we took our family to the country and we are loving it. We did buy an old farmstead and are spending the winter paying outrageous heating bills, but we have a lot of work to do here with insulation and the such. Anyway, I just wanted to say hello, especially to all the homeschoolers and Minnesotans (as those would be the categories that we fall into). Maylene

Welcome Maylene, I am new also ( a month or two - not counting), been reading and doing a couple of posts. I am from northeast south dakota. We bought an older farmstead in 1998 and have the big ol prairihouse with large windows, so i understand the heating bill problems. Two children, youngest is graduating high school this year. Again, welcome and looking forward to reading your posts. JoAnn

Welcome Maylene. Lots of folks live in drafty old houses, if you look back at the old stuff, you'll find a post I made recently on quick and inexpensive insulation to help out right away. Minnesota? Brr!

Kansas here.

Hi Maylene!

You'll find this to be a world where you can unload, learn, teach, and otherwise share with like minded folk.

(I've been mainly reading for a couple of months now)

Ayuh! We Maineiacs welcome you too! You will find that the folks herein have a plethora of knowledge, and that all are willing to share, which is what we also expect of you. There are also some weirdos, and I strongly suspect some have catagorized me in that group. But if you are normal, ie. do not have terminally thin skin, I believe you shall enjoy the wacky, wonderful folks you will meet on this site! Good Luck!
