Yes, we need to count our blessings and thank God for what we have and what He has seen to not give us. Merry Christmas to all.

Merry Christmas, all -- ours is over, at least here at the house. Middle daughter came early for breakfast and we opened presents (and she insisted on hearing me play my violin, which doesn't sound too good yet, after only four lessons!!!). Then she had to head back to town to help cook dinner with the friends she lives with, and oldest daughter finally showed up with hubby and the two little grandaughters, so we opened presents again, and watched the 23-month- old clomp around in her new wooden shoes that we got for her to wear to historical reenactments. Now my husband and our youngest daughter are gone to his folks place and I have to milk the goat and go to work at the hospital -- the only compensation is that the hospital cafeteria gives dinner to employees who have to work holidays. (Not that cafeteria food is much compensation! :-) We do have a lot to be thankful for, it's been a good morning, everything went well, and at least I have next weekend and New Year's Day (our 25th wedding anniversary) off. Best wishes to all!

Hey Kathleen...do you do historical renactments????? Hubby and I are into Living History (Rev War era), and we have our own "sabots." I'll bet your granddaughter had a ball in them....kids that age are fascinated with shoes, esp. if they can pull them on and off themselves!!!!

Daughter is at work right now at a local nursing home. She loves her job; she left with two stockings filled with small goodies for two "elders" that she has adopted. She said that they have to have Christmas, too...and she had a LOT of fun putting the socks together. Thank God for those who care for others that can't care for themselves!
