Magic in the mundane

So, I discovered the beauty of city lights at night without glasses. What have you seen lately that made you stop and look again at something you normally would barely notice?

There's a layer of virgin snow in the yard. In places where the sun hits it, it looks as if someone has sprinkled silver glitter on top. Had I not read your entry about magic in the mundane, I'm not sure I would have noticed the gorgeous sparkle. Thanks!

See, I love reading stuff like this. I think that's one thing I love about journals: sometimes, someone describes (or photographs) something completely ordinary, but does it so eloquently that it just makes you stop in your tracks, and realize just how beautiful or amazing that something is, even though you may see it every day.

Snow glittering in the sunlight, that's beautiful. Sigh. I wish we'd had some snow this winter. The rest of the country was smothered under blizzards, but here there wasn't a flake to be seen.
