I'm freezing my tushie off, its windchill here is 12.

The other day it was 60.

Winter has arrived in OHIO. *sigh*

And I can assure you, I am NOT happy about it one bit. Thought I left most of that nonsense behind in NYC (where, BTW, it is warmer than it is here).

The windchill is currently 23 degrees in the beautiful Northern Shenandoah Valley of Virginia. The woodstove has been getting steady use lately. Definitely experiencing two dog nights.

According to the predominate theory, global warming will lead to colder winters in the temperate transition zone [that's where you are]. Therefore, as the climate warms, you will freeze. Go figure. Wind chill here this morning was 12. Snow is coming tonight.

I HATE WINTER!!!

High of 45,low of 30,gray,the green from the trees is nearly gone leaving the bare branches as silent witness to that beautiful season wich is now on hiatus.

Tis the season of my envy,the season that I covet my neighbors to the south for their warmth(Unk,Deano!),and it's not even full blown winter yet!

One of these days a migration is in order.

About 4 degrees here in NW Ireland but blowing a hooley (as they say) and lots of rain.Yesterday we had a whirlwind and lost two more slates off the roof.All the leaves have gone in the gales & storms.Parts of the South & Dublin Area (East)have been flooded just as in the UK.We squelch everywhere.

Folks:

A different view. Now, I'm not happy when the temperature gets above 45 F. Below 20 F I wear long sleeve shirts. Below 15 F, I wear a coat. [You do know that Chris was talking about degrees C; 4 would be a heat wave here].

I have been on a pair of ski's at minus 40F with a wind chill of minus 110F. Great!!! I have hiked at minus 55F. Feels good.

I just can't adapt to high temperatures. You can only take off so many clothes. :^)

Had I not come down with the flu, I wouldn't mind the weather being cold, windy, and rainy. However, everytime I go to [particularly] one of my night classes, I must walk across a bridge from my car to the campus, and no matter how warm I dress, I can't warm up afterwards and find the whole flu thing recycling. At this rate, I might be healthy again by spring.

I'm with you capn-I much prefer summer!! The warmth of the sun on your skin, the long days of sunshine vibrating within your being and inherent greening of your surroundings put a warmth in one's heart that no other season matches, IMHO.

Today the high was a brrisk 58 degrees and it is expected to get to the high 20's in my area tonight!! Dang, gotta put away the shorts and get out the sweats!! On the bright side, the fireplace can warm yer bones while yer perusing the cruise lines sites/catalogues and wish for the warm waters of the Carribean...I will get back someday!!

And Z, you can only PUT ON so many clothes...this ole desert rat's blood is just toooo thin!!
